It’s How We Roll…A Student Research Symposium:Location: Lowe Student Services Center Lobby
As part of their academic work, students in three Spring 2012 Public Speaking classes with Dr. Rebecca M. Townsend are working with community members to find out how to improve transit service in the Manchester region. At this symposium, participants will have a chance to meet the research teams, attend poster-presentations of results, ask questions, discuss findings, and enjoy some refreshments.
The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) and Town of Manchester are engaged in the Knowledge Corridor Sustainability project focusing on Transit Enhancement in Manchester. This involves studying the transit service in the Manchester--Buckland Hills Mall area to understand if service could be re-structured to better meet community needs. This model of conducting public involvement is based on the success of an earlier pilot test funded by the Federal Transit Administration, and is in cooperation with Nelson\Nygaard.
Discussion results serve as the basis for student speeches and written work, and, most importantly, will be delivered to community members, CRCOG, and the Town of Manchester. Results will help shape the improvement plan for our region.
