Early Childhood Education Program

The Early Childhood Education Program is designed to prepare qualified students to become teachers of young children. Manchester Community College offers a 12 credit, 2 semester Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential Training Program and a 61-62 credit Associate's Degree Program in Early Childhood Education.

The Early Childhood Education Program focuses on child development theory and early childhood education practice. The Program emphasizes practical information that you can use in your work with young children.

You will learn how to observe children and plan developmentally appropriate activities, to design safe, healthy learning environments, to work effectively with families, and to support and encourage children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.

The Early Childhood Education Program prepares students to work in a variety of early childhood settings, such as child care centers, Head Start Programs, and family child care programs with infants, toddlers and preschool age children.
