Master's degree in a hospitality discipline or a related area required. Teaching experience at the high school or college level is strongly recommended. Hospitality industry experience required.
An understanding of the mission of the community college and a demonstrated ability to respond to and work with multiple constituencies and involvement in support of a culturally and ethnically diverse population are required.
Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated must put in writing precisely how their experience has prepared them for the responsibilities of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Hospitality Department is currently seeking adjunct faculty to teach laboratory courses in Culinary Arts, including instructors for Principles of Food Preparation as well as Basic Baking and Pastry Arts. Courses consist of a one-hour lecture and a 3.5 hour laboratory experience. The courses meet one night per week for a 16-week semester.MINIMUM SALARY:
Per semester hour rate: $1,335-$1,437; this is a 4.5-contact-hour course.
