Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association (SGA) is a governing body of elected and non-elected students who represent the student body as a whole. Student Activity Fee (SAF) funds are used by the SGA to sponsor various clubs, organizations, activities and services.  As the official voice of the student body, the SGA has the power to regulate the SAF, student clubs and to make decisions that affect all students.

The SGA provides students the experience and training in a democratic form of government. This group of students is charged with the duty of continuously expanding and coordinating a program of student activities; to stimulate interest and support in the development, assessment and execution of educational, social, cultural and recreational programs; and to develop communication among students, administration and faculty; in effect, to represent the best interests of the general student body.

The Student Government Association Executive Board (SGAEB) is composed of the following: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Student Advisory Committee (SAC) Representative (SAC Rep) and the SAC Alternate (Ex-Offcio). You must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, have earned at least three credits at Manchester Community College and maintain at least 12 credits at MCC to become an Executive Officer. The SGA office is located in the Lowe Building, room L149.  SGA elections are held every April.


SGA Meeting Dates and Times

The SGA meets every other Wednesday during the academic year. All meetings are held at 3:30 p.m. in the Great Path Academy Community Commons unless noted otherwise.

Campus Activities Board (CAB)

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) meets every Monday from 4-5 p.m. in the Office of Student Activities (SSC, L149) Conference Room. The purpose of CAB is to provide an exciting and well-rounded activities program for the students at MCC in conjunction with the Office of Student Activities (OSA). The main functions of CAB are threefold:

1) Be responsible for planning, promoting and implementing diverse, student sponsored programs within the best interests of the MCC student body.
2) Co-sponsor activities with SGA clubs and/or the college. Any student activity funds allocated by CAB shall be returned in whole or part upon completion of a co-sponsored event.
3) Work with the SGA Publicity Committee to assess student needs and minimize apathy.

CAB meetings are held at 4 p.m. every Monday in the Office of Student Activities (SSC, L149) Conference Room.


Cultural Programs Committee

The Cultural Programs Committee is a subcommittee of the College Senate and is responsible to consider and discuss existing cultural programs and to develop, plan and promote cultural growth while simultaneously extending and supplementing the totality of the college's offerings. Members are elected and include a combination of students, faculty and staff. CPC meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month. For more information on the CPC, contact T.J.
